Cattle

An estimated 79% of beef exports have displaced forests in Brazil, as have 50% of exports from Uruguay, Paraguay, and Mexico, and another 17% from Argentina (approximately 1.6 million tons). Cattle provide beef, leather, dairy, tallow, and gelatin. They are key sources of food, clothing, furniture, pet food, and some cosmetics. Companies are making commitments primarily to beef and leather, but some are committing to source all cattle products sustainably.
